Happy Halloween!

This week's tablescape is a festive Halloween setting.
It started with these placemats, which were a gift of my mother. Cute, aren't they?
I used a plain black napkin with a black gingham ribbon for a napkin ring.
The dinner plate is Wedgwood's Nantucket Basket. The orange soup bowls were a purchase this year from Wal-Mart. The flatware is my everyday Oneida Easton, and the water goblets are plain glassware I purchased a few years ago from Wal-Mart.
The centerpiece was this Halloween lantern. It was a gift from my children for my birthday last year. My birthday is the day before Halloween!
This punched votive holder was a gift from my sister one year.

This adorable black cat was a gift from the mother of one of my students back when I was teaching.

Here is a shot with the hutch decorated.

My children's treat bags hang from the knobs of the upper cabinets.
Our candy bucket fits perfectly in the niche below.

This whole table is festive and fun. My favorite shot of all is the one where you have the napkin under the bowl with the gingham part sticking out. I don't know why, but that's my favorite.

I LOVE your kids trick or treat bags. They're so cute!

I love the lantern. Isn't it great having an October birthday? Mine's the 7th and I always ask for Halloween goodies for the table.

Those orange bowls are great, I got them in purple. It was so hard to decide! The placemats really set the mood. I love the decorated hutch, isn't it fun to have a special place like that where you can showcase fun things. Have a Happy Halloween.

Celly, thanks for your comment on my table -- yes, great minds do think alike! We also ALMOST share a birthday, too -- mine was yesterday -- and my husband's IS the 30th like yours. We both had Halloween-colored birthday cakes as we were growing up! This table is so cute -- love those placemats and the darling lantern!

I love your table! Although I have enjoyed all the Halloween tablescapes this week, yours is the one that resonates the most with my own style. I like those Walmart bowls. I'm going to have to go check them out.
